Ryan Knapp It instills purpose in a cold, abrasive world. It also deludes us to believe that life is worth living. Love. An emotion that can inebriate the mind with happiness, yet simultaneously poison it with resentment. Ritchie captures this tumultuous feeling with masterful precision. Ryota Hara

Ryota Hara Darkness and beauty walk hand in hand in what is a stunning example of dark ambient being expanded beyond dark oppressing drones. Eerie piano melodies, complex string arrangements and industrial atmospheres make this an audio feast!

暗い周囲の見事な例であるものに手に闇と美し徒歩手が暗い圧ドローンを超えて展開されます。 Favorite track: The Life I Ruin.
David Ayer

David Ayer It simply will not be possible to aptly describe nor do any justice to this album by using the limits imposed by language. Love Like Blood is an amalgam of twisted emotion. Hate, fear, love, loss and more are palpable feelings as the melancholic piano of the opening track gives way to vehement indifference and more than a hint of self-destruction. If you’ve ever hated yourself for something you’ve done in the past, something you’ll always regret and NEVER forget. This is your catharsis. Favorite track: A Disease Called Love.
This Is Darkness

This Is Darkness "Throughout Love Like Blood, we are given a feast of various emotions and instrumentation. There is never a dull moment as Duncan Ritchie somehow continues moving through tracks, bending and breaking rules of the genre all the while, without every giving a hint of misdirection or alienation from core genre elements."

Freddy Anders Truly original dark ambient is virtually nonexistent. Either artists smother string and piano arrangements in their compositions or you end up with neo-classical being passed off as dark ambient. Flowers for Bodysnatchers get the balance perfect. Dark melancholic arrangements ebb and flow with utter ease and Love like Blood manages to be as creepy as it is beautiful. Favorite track: A Disease Called Love.

about

Love Like Blood serves as a companion piece to Flowers for Bodysnatchers seminal Dark Ambient album Aokigahara. In this album we explore the haunted tale of despair of love lost, found and lost again. Our protagonists journey from the previous album is a shadowy narrative walking hand in hand with the fatal attraction that is Aokigahara.

The album revisits the lonely intricate piano movements, soundscapes and field recordings compiled while exploring the underworld that is Tokyo. Exploring a metropolis and an individual constantly in a state of decay and rebirth. As is Love Like Blood.
