The Umbra Report

by Cities Last Broadcast

Televiper Dim lighting, broken instruments, radio static, ominous silence. Favorite track: Disembodied.
darkcasey thumbnail
darkcasey The Umbra Report is a scratchy, static-filled album, its soundscapes populated by distorted voices, strange throbbing atmospheres, and drones that cloak the whole in a warm, breathing darkness. There are hints and impressions of musical melodies and singing, but they are soon claimed by the more esoteric elements and shredded into a strange, otherworldly waiting-room ambience. Favorite track: Disembodied.
Geogaddi thumbnail
Geogaddi If you take an Blackhole shaped from lost souls and condens the terror this thing would contain, you will get near the impressive sound this album delivers!
It feels like Pär Boström was like: you want "dark" ambient? I give you "Vantablack"Ambient!
Quote my Dad hearing this:
"Sounds like sticking your head into an lawnmower!" me:"used by lucifer! " :)
absolute crazy and massive album here!
Max O' Garden

Max O' Garden This is the kind of creepy thematic yet soothing dark ambient I dig. It's hard to pick a favorite already. The album promises and deserves so many re-listenings to take everything in, to develop all the mental stories it inspires. Pär Boström proves yet again why he is one of the big names in the scene.
Ayn Soph

Ayn Soph Once again, Pär Boström makes his tapes come alive to make them sing their songs for us. An eerie, enigmatic journey, heavier and more menacing than those before. Favorite track: Wherever the Heart Goes.

chris_papa A masterpiece of dark ambience. Favorite track: Antumbra.

Cities Last Broadcast presents us his second solo album on Cryo Chamber, The Umbra Report. A dark and dreamy journey.

Is it a depression, a séance, or an exorcism? Whatever it is, every nuance of it is thoroughly recorded and the result is terrifying yet oddly soothing. The tape machine is constantly hissing, every piece of machinery is making ominous noises, and something sings along. Pär Boström shows us again that he is a unique creator of sound design and paranormal electronics.

Recommended for fans of tape recordings and pitch-black drones.
