Signals 1 to 4 have to be the epitomy of what I'd call minimal, but they all have the essential ingredient for dark ambient - bass! I'm not even sure how I keep coming back to these albums, most might say they are repetitive, yet strangely they aren't & I find myself yearning for more! Don't let it be too long before Signals V :-D Love this music! I'd buy it on pre-order... I did previously...

Sabled Sun - Signals, is a series of space ambient works that portrays transmissions that the protagonist, from the 21xx series albums, find on his journey to uncovering what happened to humanity. The protagonist wakes up from hibernation deep sleep to an empty world void of human life in the 21xx album series. As such this is a look into what happens in the periphery of the main project.

Dark Complex is an enhanced compilation of Alphaxone's work, offering us the best bits of his previous releases on various labels after remastering them. This is a good way to discover a promising artist, mostly dark ambient but not hesitating to pick features from the "light" ambient world (like Dissolving, less oppressing than other tracks). Take hypnotizing drones, add some dissonant chimes and chorus plus exhaling synths, and you get a sort of mutant dark ambient album really seducing.
