Shadows of Forgotten Legends gives the listener a relaxing trip into the dark realms of the sea. The hints of the Kraken are subtle and by insinuation, which creates a peaceful, yet tension-filled listening experience. The field-recorded sounds and crackling, sometimes echoing spaces, are a great place to escape to when you need a break from the idiocy in the world today.

Seldom do I get the drive to repeat the disc over and over. This one got repeated while I was working on minor things. Also repeated many times w/Cosmo sleeping on my lap so drive others away, lay back, Hug the animals, Shut up and drift away!! Praise be to Simon and His Collaborations!!!

Alphaxone, ProtoU and Onasander join forces on Shadows of Forgotten Legends. Ancient behemoths lurk in black waters on this sub-ambient album.
According to Nordic legends, the Kraken was a mythological creature that was terrorizing sailors from Greenland to Norway. By emerging from deep sea, the giant beast was shattering vessels with huge tentacles and devouring entire crews.
"Shadows of forgotten legends" draws a new sonic path to invoke this ancient Scourge of the Seas, awakening it from deep sleep.
"Below the thunders of the upper deep;
Far far beneath in the abysmal sea,
His ancient, dreamless, uninvaded sleep
The Kraken sleepeth: faintest sunlights flee
About his shadowy sides; above him swell
Huge sponges of millennial growth and height;
And far away into the sickly light,
From many a wondrous grot and secret cell
Unnumber'd and enormous polypi
Winnow with giant arms the slumbering green.
There hath he lain for ages, and will lie
Battening upon huge seaworms in his sleep,
Until the latter fire shall heat the deep;
Then once by man and angels to be seen,

What Eusebes throws into the mix however, is the kind of sound that you might hear when one spaceship docks with another, a kind of vigorous thump that goes way beyond straining superstructure. I felt that this was an introspective track, but one that creates the feeling of something coming. A bit like being alone in your house and thinking you hear a door opening downstairs, but on a space-station, with ships and time-warps.
