Now my very own personal anthem. Favorite track: The Sea.

Phyein Among the more mellow offerings from Cryo Chamber. Low key humming drones form the base of these pieces, while vague half-melodies slowly form and dissolve, never developing into something more conventional, so as to retain the dreamlike state of the music and atmosphere it portrays - the album wisely never crosses that barrier of subtlety, and as such it remains a work that the pre-conscious state of mind can completely lose itself in while the wakeful mind lies dormant. While far less overtly foreboding or emotional than most of Cryo Chamber, this a warm and peaceful yet highly blurred and foggy world that, while inviting, hides a subtle feeling of anxiety and the unknown lurking just beyond the fog, every now and then sending that feeling that something is not right as you peacefully drift along. This is one for tired ears and tired minds, that are still looking for that "edge" that separates dark ambient from more conventional and mainstream ambient styles. This is a work I find myself going to often, as I find it can be hard to find that balance of dreamlike and highly soothing yet esoteric and unconventional at the same time. Wonderful. Favorite track: Unreal Symbols.

about

After her split debut Earth Songs with Dronny Darko in 2015, protoU now returns. Her solo debut album Lost Here, recorded in the Black Room Studio in Kiev, is as serene as it is brooding.

Lost Here takes place in realms beyond reality. Deep dreams of fragmented visions tied together with a sonic backdrop full of low key drone work. Sasha touches us with music accentuated with field recordings, to bring us a sea of sound. The salty beaches engulfed as the drones come crashing in. It will drag you down to the bottom of murky water and hold you in place to convey its vision.
