darkcasey Crier’s Bane is a dark ambient album that does a fine job of evoking what Victorian London might feel like. The soundscapes are dark, grainy and spectral, the dirt, soot and creaking seeming to be an apt palette for the intangible fingers of ghosts to paint a mood with. Favorite track: The Unforgiving Toll of Time.

In.Visible.Generator You have the feeling of wandering through an ancient city full of alchemists, assassins and machines that have been brought to life. Once you're trapped in a huge bell tower, chased by a mechanical creature. Another time you listen to an old seafarer telling a story about a cursed ship and its mysterious cargo. In between, you listen to the townsfolk old stories and joy the view of old cathedrals and the victorian crooked structures. This album is a visually stunning firework for the inner eye.

Rindenberg What an amazing piece of art! You literally feel the wet cobblestone under your boots, the fine rain dripping from your head, the dim, yellow gas lights, the horror creeping from the dark and twisted alleyways and finally the grim riders who chase you to dark depths of London. Even among the CC-catalouge this album stands out as a particularly dense and atmospheric work filled with deep drones, dark sounds and clever instrumentation (just love the sparkles of accordion!). Well done everybody! Favorite track: Cursed Riders of Night.

about

"Oyez, oyez, oyez!
All good citizens draw near and harken unto these words. For it is grave news this ere night, grave news indeed.
Be it known to all ye, that there has been another murder. A most gruesome murder, and the killer is still on the loose.
So good people ye, lock up your windows, bracen your doors and be safe on this night, for all is not well. All is not well"
The Crier's words hung heavy in the early eve. Shutters were closed and the townsfolk scattered to their homes as empty beggars' hands withdrew to the gutter leaving the once bustling crooked cobblestone streets now but a desolate spiral of gas lit flicker and elongated shadows.

Step back in time to the festering stench and mire of Victorian London courtesy of Dead Melodies and Beyond the Ghost.
